Cleaning the Hull

This morning when we crossed to the work yard after breakfast, Lanikai already had workers  scraping and cleaning off the marine growth from her hull.   I climbed aboard and opened her up and while it was still cool down below spent several hours at the sewing machine renewing sun-rotted seams on our cockpit shades.  Bill removed the prop from the dinghy outboard to take it into the shop along with an assortment of other parts.

Prop Stuck

Then he started on the main prop removal, which may take several days of tapping and squirting with WD40 before it loosens from all the salt encrustation.

While he was tapping on the prop, a worker was getting busy with sandpaper and water cleaning the freshly-scraped hull down to the old paint.

So things are moving along here.
