Parque Corcovado

Today we went to Corcovado Park entering at the San Pedrito Station. We traveled to the park by panga (boat), and took two hikes while there, with a guide carrying a telescope. The first hike was into the primary growth jungle ending with a swim in the pool below a waterfall. Lunch back at the park station was followed by a walk in the jungle just inland from the beach. During the hikes we got to see a Tucan, some bats in a hollow tree, Scarlet Macaws that were eating almonds in a shoreside tree, crocodiles in a pond, several groups of monkeys and a pretty green parrot. We also got introduced to many tropical plants and smaller animals.
