Today I woke up to a thin coating of snow on the ground. It is pretty crunchy but it does make the world look prettier.
… Never a dull moment …

Mauricio was taking a bath after a day at grandma and grandpa’s house. He was very unhappy as I made him keep a scrape on his foot in the water while I washed the rest of his body. The scrap was hurting him a lot in the water so I told him to think of something else to take his mind off his hurt foot. He decided to start counting. When he reached 60 I was getting him out of the bath. As I toweled him off he said “It took 1 minute..no wait it took 3 minutes as I counted to 60 two times at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.”
Very interesting news. I wonder howe he is doing in school. I hope that he has a clever teacher. I supose that you bothy are getting used to the rain. It is cold here, but no snow as yet. There was some on the mts.

Last night when I picked Mauricio up from school, he walked right past his backpack and demanded that I bring it to the car. When I told him that it was his job he had already stomped halfway down the hall and so was not willing to come back and get his backpack. I had to count to get him back, just as his teacher, sitting in the office near where he stood told him to go back and get his bag. Getting it from two people was enough for him to yell at us, “Fine, you are not invited to my birthday party!” as he stomped back to get his bag.

Mauricio was unhappy with me when I picked him up from school. He told me that he was not my friend and he was no longer my son. He took all the wind out of my sail as it wasn’t really appropriate to say that I am his mom and not his friend. I guess I use it that response too much.

Mauricio likes to talk while eating dinner, mostly just random thoughts not related to anything. Tonight he was singing quietly that he was a bobfish. I asked him what a bobfish was.
Mauricio: Do you know what a bobcat is?
Me: Yes
Mauricio: A bobfish is exactly the same thing only the word is different.
What!?! – I guess it works in the mind of a 5 year old boy

Mauricio loves his new bike. He gets to take it to school on Monday and learn how to safely ride it. The 59 was his own number choice.

Mauricio’s ‘School’ had a float in the Dairy Festival Parade, which Mauricio and I rode on. The hand and foot prints on the banner down the side of the truck are Mauricio’s hands and feet. What a mess. I was wearing a white shirt that was blue and yellow before we even got to the fair grounds to line up for the parade.
It was a beautiful day for a parade but we had to sit in the sun for 3 hours waiting for our turn to go. It was interesting trying to keep the kids busy for that long up on the trailer.

Mauricio gets some help from the coach on the proper way to hold and swing the bat.
He really likes wearing the blue helmet.
Mauricio in the outfield. He is reminded that the goal is not to tackle the ball but to let the first player to get the ball throw it to 1st.
We are still working on that – Look at the ready-to-race stance.
Boy do you look good here. Nice stance and swing.
Uh, Well..the last inning and he was too tired to try again when he missed.

I got up to check on Mauricio and Atomic decided to take over. He was not happy with me when I insisted he needed to get down.

Mauricio enjoys anything which includes throwing and catching balls. Here he practices catching and throwing before the game.
The game has started and Mauricio checks out the lineup. As usual he is the last to line up.
Great Swing – Too bad it missed the ball.
