First Day of School

I can’t believe our oldest two kids are starting High School and Junior High this year!  I have to say that I am one lucky mom.  I have two of the best teen and preteen kids a mom could ask for. 

Jacob and Emily were already dressed  and waiting for the school bus by the time I got off work.  Nic goes to the school by the house this year so he was at home just waking up and showering.  Doug waited with the kids for close to 30 minutes before he finally gave up and took off.  I later called the bus garage to find out that school starts later this year and the kids were dropped off 30 minutes early!!!  Aww well they are good kids, probably didn’t even care.

In my sleepy state I forgot to get Nic’s picture when I dropped him off at school.  I will get it this afternoon when he gets home.  Help me in keeping very positive thoughts for Nics Second Grade adventures!

Doug wasn’t feeling very good but with company in town he still managed to walk the beach and sit and relax in the sand.

Happy camp

Yesterday we went up the river, no pictures.  Today we went to Happy Camp.  Rici went both places and got his feet wet both times!  He had lot’s of fun and didn’t whine a bit!!!  Nicolas on the other hand had a rough day.  I didn’t pack any snacks for the beach today and he was sad.  Vocally very very sad.

Jacob was busy working on a dam that Rici was very eager to help with.  Nicolas made sandcastles and Emily made a Mickey Mouse.  This evening Doug’s friend showed up from Pendleton with his family.  We enjoyed a nice campfire while the kids enjoyed smores.  image

My friend Alicia has 4 month old twin baby boys. Emily may get to help babysit Thursdays after school. She did well handliing both babys crying. It was fun to watch her juggle them back and forth.  We stuck around till 8 and helped mom get the babys off to bed. It was tons of fun snuggling two little guys!

Mothers with twins can really use a helper. Emily, it looks like you have found a happy way to spend some time. I hope that you will find high school too be a happy place also. Lots of LOVE from GG Ward.

Jacob in his new junior high sweatshirt. He looks pretty wiped out because he just finished football practice and he had his all night birthday bash last night!  His schedule just arrived today and he is all set for Junior High though!
