A lunch time conversation

So today at lunch Nicolas started in with a story.  He told us about how one time Jacob had dunked his head in the toilet to wet down his hair.  Lexi started laughing hysterically.  Then Nicolas’ story continued with “and then he used the girls hair brushes….”  Alexa’s fork stopped mid air and she said “WHAT!”  This was my turn to laugh.  “Which one?” Alexa asked.  “All of them” was the reply from Jacob. 

Had to share this…  Kids, got to love em!

Cold Weather

Why in the world are we still having freezing temperatures in April?!?!  I mean, enough is enough!  I was in a patients room and heard some discussion on the Weather Channel about 70 degrees.  That’s nice, rub it in!  We don’t have that nice weather here.

Doug  changed out the tires on the black car today…. in the hail!  Might be time to remove studs some places but not necesarily here.  Then he took Nic out hunting for a while.

Later he showed Emily how to make French Bread Pizza.  It was good. I had some when I came home from work.

Sitting here with a glass of wine.  Nice end to a loooong day.  Watching a family movie and enjoying a nice fire.  I guess that’s one perk to cold weather!

Today was much better than yesterday.  I got up and lifted weights and then yes, I went on my run.  I think that really helped me feel more motivated.  I started painting the kids room while Nicolas and Emily worked on school.  Speaking of school.  I can not believe how quick Nicolas is grasping it!  He is on a roll!!  It is so much fun.  He’s been working on his sight words (at and an words).  And he’s just about able to just read them without sounding them out!  Soooo much fun.  That’s the fun part of being a home school mom! Anyway so back to painting.  I ran out of paint halfway through the room so it will just have to wait.  After school we went swimming again.  Nicolas looks like such a bug in goggles (he calls them gobbles).  Emily had fun doing her underwater tricks.  I think she is lonely without her sister.  Especially at the pool.  They have some fun little game they like to play in the deep end.  I’m thinking it has something to do with mermaids.  I used to love to pretend I was a mermaid with my best friend Emily when I was younger.  It’s 810 and both munchkins are in bed watching movies.  I’m in bed getting ready to hit the lullaby tree.  I’m tired.  Off to work tomorrow.  I’m thinking Doug will be out scouting with Nic for bear!
