Nic’s Wife

Nic used to say that he would marry me someday.  Today he changed his mind.  He’s now figured out that I can’t marry him because I will be the grandma and I can’t be the mommy too… scary thought!  This evening I asked Alexa and Nic if they wanted to put on their swimsuits and take a bubble bath in my bathtub.  They were both excited and spent the next hour in the tub.  When they both came out and got themselves dressed in PJ’s Nic informed dad that Alexa was going to be his wife someday cause she was way better looking than me when we get out of the tub!

That’s what Nic told me when I asked why my new pink fishing pole was sold with crummy line.  Here the gang is working hard to take off the old line.  I guess the plan is to respool it with the “good stuff”03-09-09-503-09-09-41

Yep… you heard me right before, I said “pink fishing pole!”  Doug and I found them a few weeks back.  A pink fishing reel for the rivers around here, and a pink one for halibut and tuna fishing on the ocean.  Had to get them!!!

Just an Inch

03-10-09-2Nicolas has this favorite saying that little things are “just an inch”.  If someone isn’t very nice, “they are not nice an inch.”  If he gets hurt not too bad…. then “it’s okay mom it didn’t hurt even an inch.”   Sometimes he likes to tell us that things aren’t an inch of fun, especialy school!  Then of course there is the “I didn’t get to do it an inch!!!”  That’s if he feels he didn’t get a turn at something.
