Jacob seems to be over his “bug” so dad asked him if he wanted to go fishing today. Surprisingly Jacob said “yes!” I was shocked. He is not our fisherman of the group! Sometimes a day with dad is worth it though…. anyway it may come!
… just another hectic day …

This past week has been a busy one! Doug’s Buddy Mark came down for some fishing! Salmon one day, and Tuna the next.
My mom and I have been working on the silly drain to the cabin. We did manage to connect into our drain system but have been on hold to actually connect into the cabin. I was to scared to drill a hole in my husbands precious cabin! Doug finally drilled the holes yesterday. He also picked up the tiles to finish the floor in the bathroom. Hopefully the drain will be connected in the next few days. Then I can fill the last remaining muddy trench outside my house! It is driving me nuts!!! Emily has been a big help with that trench as well. She had to crawl on her belly with a small trowel to dig it several inches deep under the cabin. Toilet soon to follow! It is at least sitting in the cabin!
My dad completed the electricity into the cabin and we did fill that trench! And concrete was poured around the two remaining hose spikets to secure them from my tornado children!!!
The weekend was spent over at aunt Ginger’s. Grandpa put a utility sink in her art room on Saturday. Grandma and I helped Ginger clean up her patio. We hauled stuff to storage and hauled stuff to the house. Sunday Grandma, Emily, and I went back over there to help paint Rici’s room. It turned out Awesome!!! She will be stenciling on the walls soon and it will really look great.
Jacob and Alexa came home Sunday night and we did Lexi’s birthday party. Baked Potato Bar and Nacho Bar. Then a butterfly cake! Yum. I had too much rum and woke up Monday sick as a dog! OOPS.
Nicolas lost his first tooth Sunday too!
Monday was the first day of school for the Brill Household. Everyone whizzed through their school and we were done by 11. Then out to the cabin to drill the toilet hole.
Today Doug’s out fishing again. Hopefully Pictures tonight.

I went to work and the boys went out fishing. Nic’s best friend Mekhi went as well as Mekhi’s big sister and dad. Joe also went along. They had fun sea bass fishing and caught a bunch.
The camera died half way into their trip so no more pictures. Once they got home grandma got some more pictures of the fish getting filleted. Here is Joe working his magic!
Okay, Doug too….

Once again I was scheduled to work on the same day that the ocean was planning on being as flat as a pancake. So….. Doug took the boys out fishing. Jacob’s friend Joe got to skip school and go along too.

The first Springer finally joined us for dinner!!! YEA! It has
been a long time since we’ve had some really yummy Springer
with havartii cheese. Not that we should complain because
there is an awful lot of fresh fish around our table!!!
I was at work during this exciting fishing trip but I got to
enjoy the dinner. They waited for me to get home. It was
DELISCIOUS!!!

The Phan’s showed up with Grandma and Grandpa Brill Saturday afternoon. It was a windy day but we all headed out for some clamming anyway. The tides were too high but everyone had fun playing in the water. I hung out in the warm car with Grandma, Kimberly, and Evan. It was FREEZING out there! We had a late barbecue of ribs that night and had the campfire going in the back yard. The older kids had fun roasting marshmallows.
Sunday morning it was time to feed the cows… big family affair this time!
The Emily’s fed the cows. Everyone else just wanted to watch.
After church the boys went for a drift down the Trask….. no fish. They came home early and the kids spent the rest of the day playing.
Then we fired up the barbecue and the fire pit. Everyone enjoyed brauts, hotdogs, and roasted marshmallows!
Monday morning Doug, Grandpa, and Austin woke up early to take the big boat out on the ocean. The rest of the gang went out clamming again. This time at low tide.
The clamming gang brought back some serious clams. Three buckets!!!
The three guys had a great time and did manage to bring back some fish also.
Before the Phan’s headed back toward Springfield we all ate a big meal.
There are 11 people around that table! Just like the good ol’ days!
