Happy Birthday
Doug!
Poor thing woke up at 2am to a rumbly in his tummy and PUKING! It didn’t stop till after 7am. A pretty crummy happy birthday to him. He spent most of the day sleeping on the couch.

After a quick morning of school we headed off to Chuck E Cheese for a birthday party. It was loads of fun. Kimberly made it down with Emily, Austin, Ethan, and Evan. Mommy Mindy drove over with McKenna, Jacob, and Alexa. Grandma and Grandpa Brill made it down from Pendleton. And then of course we all made it from here (Aunt Ginger, Mauricio, Grandma and Grandpa Gord, Nicolas, Emily, and then Doug and I). It was a HUGE turnout! I’m thinking everyone made a point to make it there just to see for themselves that Nicolas really did make it to 6!
I had made him a tractor birthday cake.

Everyone opened presents. Grandpa Brill’s birthday is in two days so he had gifts. Jacob and Alexa still hadn’t received some of their birthday presents so they also had some surprise gifts.
Of course there was loads of games, tokens, tickets, and then prizes! What fun. Oh ya, Yummy Pizza TOO!

This past week has been a busy one! Doug’s Buddy Mark came down for some fishing! Salmon one day, and Tuna the next.

My mom and I have been working on the silly drain to the cabin. We did manage to connect into our drain system but have been on hold to actually connect into the cabin. I was to scared to drill a hole in my husbands precious cabin! Doug finally drilled the holes yesterday. He also picked up the tiles to finish the floor in the bathroom. Hopefully the drain will be connected in the next few days. Then I can fill the last remaining muddy trench outside my house! It is driving me nuts!!! Emily has been a big help with that trench as well. She had to crawl on her belly with a small trowel to dig it several inches deep under the cabin. Toilet soon to follow! It is at least sitting in the cabin!
My dad completed the electricity into the cabin and we did fill that trench! And concrete was poured around the two remaining hose spikets to secure them from my tornado children!!!
The weekend was spent over at aunt Ginger’s. Grandpa put a utility sink in her art room on Saturday. Grandma and I helped Ginger clean up her patio. We hauled stuff to storage and hauled stuff to the house. Sunday Grandma, Emily, and I went back over there to help paint Rici’s room. It turned out Awesome!!! She will be stenciling on the walls soon and it will really look great.
Jacob and Alexa came home Sunday night and we did Lexi’s birthday party. Baked Potato Bar and Nacho Bar. Then a butterfly cake! Yum. I had too much rum and woke up Monday sick as a dog! OOPS.
Nicolas lost his first tooth Sunday too!
Monday was the first day of school for the Brill Household. Everyone whizzed through their school and we were done by 11. Then out to the cabin to drill the toilet hole.
Today Doug’s out fishing again. Hopefully Pictures tonight.

Alexa wanted to have her birthday at the skating rink. So we did!!! Mindy pretty much organized it all. We just showed up. We all met at the Oaks Park Skating Rink. Everyone seemed to have TONS of fun. Doug even got out on skates!!!
We had a short time at a table designated to Alexa. Everyone got cotton candy, ice cream, and balloons. And of course the cake that Mindy brought!
Then off to some serious skating…..

We all got together at Cape Kiwanda RV park for Jacob’s Birthday Party. Mommy, John, McKenna, and Grandma and Grandpa Jones brought their huge fancy RV. Doug and I and Grandma Gord stayed in a cabin. Grandpa Gord, Aunt Ginger, and Rici just came for the evening. The kids all stayed in another cabin (minus Nic…. he ended up in with us adults!!!)
We all met on Sunday afternoon. First we went swimming…….

This morning the guys (and grandma too) were up early and outa here for ocean fishing. Salmon and Halibut I believe. Emily and I headed out for work shortly after. Emily had her final day of Latimer’s Simply Stunning Day Camp (a girl’s craft heaven!). I had to work so I had made arrangements to bring her with me to work and then bring her by a friends house later. She would then go to day camp from there. The fishing was only going to be a half a day because Grandma needed to be dropped off by the Latimer Center by 2pm to see the display of crafts that had been made that week. Grandpa needed to head up the highway and meet Mommy Mindy so Jacob and Alexa could come home. Dad needed to get the boat cleaned, pick up pizza and get ready for Emily’s birthday party!
Surprise!!! The Phan’s showed up! What a great surprise. Just in time for Emily’s party and Jacob and Lexi coming home. Oh boy did the kids have a grand time playing together. Aunt Ginger came over to help decorate the cake (I was still at work) and I think there were 9 kids running around! YIKES!
I managed to get off work early and showed up right around 5pm just in time for pizza, cake, and presents.
It ended up being a perfect day!

Today was Emily’s day. She didn’t want to have a party. She just really wanted a day of shopping with her friend. She has spent the last few months saving every penny she could. She wound up with close to 300 dollars for the shopping trip. I don’t think she spent a whole lot of it but she sure had fun! She brought along her best friend Paige.
That night we surprised her with a trip to our favorite Mexican restaurant.
And then the cake came……………..
