Chopping Wood

Doug was up early with the boys this morning and decided they had better go fill the truck with wood before the rain came.  The boys helped make a fabulous breakfast.  And Nicolas got his favorite… oatmeal with fresh sliced strawberries.  I guess grandma had the strawberries sliced for him when he woke up…. SPOILED!  But it did make for one really happy little boy.  Aren’t grandma’s the best!

Then it was off to loggers work.

After 3 hours of incredibly hard work and three less tree’s on Grandpa’s property everyone got to go home to relax.  Doug barbecued burgers, his favorite.  Then Grandpa and Doug took Nicolas our fishing for a while.  Later that evening it was fun times with the board games.

Lexi had a good time sewing some napkins for her tea set.  Grandma has an incredible amount of material to chose from and had some fun quilted pieces to use also. 

All in all the kids and their dad had a wonderful time I think.  I was well rested and relaxed when they came home.  Emily and I really enjoyed the house to ourselves… until night time when it got dark!
