Ginger and Rici

Aunt Ginger and Rici are heading on a road trip to Montana.  For day’s I have been planning on packing up some fish for my grandparents and just too busy and forgetful to do it.  Today she was nice enough to come by here on her way out of town.  We dug through the freezer and found some good chunks of fish for the grandparents.  We also gathered some canned tuna, which my grandpa loves, and some canned blackberry jam that mom helped to can two summers ago. 

Ginger’s plan was to stop along the way at family and friends.  She has one friend that loves duck eggs so she has been carefully saving them from a co-worker.  Our ducks are gone so sadly, we have no duck eggs here.  But we still have our chickens and our farm fresh eggs.  We are down to 5 chickens though so we don’t have a lot of eggs.  With the fresh ones from the hen house we did manage to scrounge up a dozen plus a few.  Now my egg box is empty but that’s okay, the chickens so politely give me a few each day.

Wednesday Night

Thankfully Nicolas had a better day today then Monday and Tuesday.  Any change for him makes life rough and since he had last week off from school for spring break getting back into the routine is not fun.  But after going to bed at 4pm after school last night I guess he decided he better put on his big boy pants and be good!

Wednesday’s are always my really busy days.  I help in the kids classrooms and then bring Nicolas home with me.  Then turn around 2 hours later to pick up Jacob from Track.  Two hours after we get home we head back into town to take Emily to Youth Group.  Tonight I figured it would be fun if we all went into town and played in the pool.  Jacob decided he would rather play in the gym with some friends.  But Lex and Nicolas and I hit the pool.  When Doug got off work he even decided to join us at the YMCA and get a work out in.  By 8pm we all loaded in the cars and headed home.  Lex and I drove by the church first for Emily.  Next year Jacob gets to go to Youth Group and he is very excited.  He already has friends there and is dying to get to join in on the flashlight tag nights!

So by 9pm we were all home and snug in our beds.  I am completely exhausted and really looking to a full nights sleep!

Track

Jacob started track today after school.  He is pretty excited about it and in big decision mode as to which events he will do.  The 6th graders get to join the junior highers for track so this makes it all the more exciting.

Roof Play

Nicolas shot his arrow onto the roof…… accidently.  So he had to go up there to get it down.  Of course everyone wanted to go up there then.  Well, everyone but Rici.  He was very content and happy running around on the ground throwing the ball up to the big kids

Emily went to Gabe’s house this afternoon for a while so we decided to spend some good time with Nicolas. We went to Rodeo for dinner. Then went bowling. Nicolas was outa control excited!

While I slept this am Emily helped make some lego guns for her brother. This one is pretty fancy! It shoots rubber bands and has a “bullet holder”.

Fishing

Okay so I have spent the last hour or so trying to figure out just how my sister was able to put all the video clips into one file and them save them to the computer so that I could upload.  I have managed to somehow use a completely different program then she used, cause hers wasn’t working for me at all!   I uploaded to YouTube, each clip individually, and here some are.  Stupid!  One would think that if they purchased a video camera for over 200 dollars that states YouTube ready, it would be!  What a  JOKE!

Hebo Lake

We met up with the Clark’s and headed to Hebo Lake for some fishing.  Doug had heard that it was just stocked with trout and an excellent place to bring kids.  Ha ha ha, that is a joke!  The place is loaded with down logs; great for snagging, and twigy, twiny trees; also great for snagging.  So no, it was not the best place.  But it was fun, and good for some laughs.  I think the kids had fun too, even if they were cold.  It snowed on us, rained in buckets, and was a little windy.

The kids found a big old nasty ball of slime (egg sack maybe) full of little wiggly things (probably salamanders).  It was very fascinating for the younger ones.

We all went home to warm up and then I spent the remainder of my lazy day on the couch reading.  I did get to spend a little time chatting with my mom on Skype though.  It has been a while since we have visited so that was nice.
