Finally work begins on the cabin again!!! We decided enough was enough, it was time to get the toilet in. The same ol’ dilemma arose though. What to do with the floor. It’s a question we always come to when we decide we really want to hook up the toilet. My mom has always said just to put the toilet in and remove it later to finish the floor. I’ve always wanted to get the shower in, do the floor right, and then put in the toilet. Problem was that the shower never seemed to come. First we needed to figure out hot water. Then we needed to figure out a shower base small enough to fit in the area we had available. We always came to the same answer. Too hard, too complicated, maybe later.
So like I said, enough was enough! We have had a toilet for over a year just sitting out there. We have the drain in. We have the water in. We just need to connect it up right?!?! Well sort of. We decided to just tile the first few rows, place the toilet, and deal with the rest later. Then, it lead to the same question, how far back to tile because of the shower! So why do we want a shower out there??? HMMMM. Okay, new plan. Tile the entire floor, and do away with the shower once and for all!!! YEA! A decision has been made and we can finally move forward. This not only saves us a headache, it saves us lots of money.
Sorry mom and dad. Wish we would have thought of losing the shower months ago. You woulda had a toilet!
So today, Grandpa and I tiled the floor while Doug was at work. Unfortunately the toilet has to wait till tomorrow.
We finished tiling right before the kids got home from school. Then it was a crazy evening running around for kids activities. Tomorrow we will grout!
