It’s been another busy week. Things are starting to feel like they are mellowing out a bit. We are all getting into our routine. Emily is always so studious after school. She has straight A’s and is doing her almighty to keep them! Jacob loves his Saxophone and would play it all afternoon if permitted. Unfortunately I think the school would frown on us if we didn’t have him doing his homework. Lexi is definitely taking after her sister. She is at the top of her class in math. I’m not just talking top of the class either. She is at the mountain peek! She is just finishing up multiplication by 9’s. The majority of the class is in addition and subtraction. She is also in a mighty competition with another student in her class for the top AR points. Every day she comes home I hear the updated number and how close she is to being number 1. Unfortunately though, the other child is probably reading just as much as Lex to keep his/her title! Nicolas is finally figuring out what it means to be good in school. His teacher has come up with a star system for him. Max stars of 10 per day. That’s roughly 2 per hour (one for staying on task, one for keeping his hands to himself). If he earns all stars the first half of the day, he gets to leave the room to build something for 10 minutes and then the same at the end of the day. Two weeks ago we were dealing with 6 star days. We have now had a consistent week of 9 or 10 star days!!!! That is truly something to celebrate.
With all the kids finding their groove with school and activities everything is about to change again! Grandma and Grandpa leave this weekend and next week we leave for an entire week of Elk Hunting! When we get home Emily starts basketball, Jacob and Nicolas start wrestling, and life goes on! It’s a busy life but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
