I was fortunate enough to get call yesterday so I could hang out with all the family.  Then work called and offered me a good deal to work night shift last night.  Of course they gave me today off!  So I’m no fool, I took it!  By the time I was getting off work this morning there was another sick call for tonight so I came home, got some sleep, spent time with my family, and now I’m heading back to work tonight.  Kids are all enjoying making their own dinner, and Doug is enjoying a nice fire.  It is a pretty rainy day outside.  Nice and cozy in the house though! 

Grandma and Grandpa left this morning with Austin and Emily.  The plan was to meet up with their parents in Portland.  We had a great time with them the last few days and are so glad they were able to stick around a little longer than originally planned.

Happy Birthday Lexi

We celebrated Lexi’s Birthday today.  Grandma and Grandpa decided to stay for a few more days.  The Phan’s also let Austin and Emily stay for a few more days. 

Today we all moved the heavy rocks out of the area between the house and garage.  We still need to get gravel at some point and move the new fish table into the area.  Can’t wait for it to be done!

Later on the girls all got ready for a sleepover

Family Comes to Visit

The Mountain House Grandparents and the Phan’s surprised the kids with a visit.  The kids had fun running all around the yard.  Grandma and Grandpa brought Doug his birthday present, a HUGE fish cleaning table.  Of course this inspired a new project.  Grandma, Kimberly, and I moved all of the flowers out of the garden in between the house and garage.  We replanted them around the yard.  Then the boys got out the saw and started cutting down the tree.  Once the tree was out Doug hooked up the truck to the big huge bush and pulled it out.  A few more stumps pulled out and the area was empty.  Still has quite a few rocks that we will move out later and then fill the area with gravel for a nice drainfield.

Stump finally Burns

We’ve wanted to burn the stump in our backyard for quite some time.  Finally had a big barbecue tonight, invited some friends over, and lit the stump on fire.

Ocean again

Doug went out on the ocean again today.  This time for Salmon.  Alexa went along (and slept!).  Doug’s friend Aaron went and Jacob’s friend Joe went.  Nope, Jacob didn’t go.

Jacob and Lexi came home!!!

Jacob and Lexi came home today!!!  I picked them up this morning and then we stopped by to see dad at work.  Things mellowed out at work by mid afternoon so dad came home to spend the rest of the afternoon with us!  YEA!!!  We really missed having them around.

Turkeys

Every night more and more turkeys roost on the fence between our house and the chicken coop.  I’m not sure why they don’t roost in the chicken coop where there is a roof but oh well.  When the rains come back we will see how they do.

Aunt Ginger also came over and we barbecued burgers.  The kids played and had a good time in the beautiful weather.  Tonight I’m watering cause things are looking pretty dry.  Lexi texted and it was nice to hear from her.  Sure am missing their smiling faces around here.  Can’t wait till Thursday when we can pick them up and celebrate Jacob’s 11th birthday!
