Fourth of July

We got home this afternoon from a fun trip to Newport.  We were not exactly sure where to watch the fireworks while there so spent the afternoon of the 4th walking all over the bay front road.  Not much luck finding a place.  Nicolas did find a fun tractor scoop to stand in though!

And we found some very loud sea lions playing on a dock.  When I say loud, I mean it!  You could hear them down the road!!!

We ended up getting in the car and finding a bite to eat at the Rogue Brewery in town.  It was a bit of a wait but very worth it according to the beer drinkers.   Then we enjoyed the firework show from the parking lot with most of the rest of town. 

Nicolas and Emily had a really good time letting off fireworks while waiting.  Grandpa had gone all out on quite a supply of fireworks.

The next day we spent some time at the Newport Aquarium and headed home.  The plan was to find a nice place to eat on the way home but…. we hit some traffic and the trip home took way longer than planned.  We stopped at Safeway instead for some barbeque supplies and came home for dinner.

There were left over fireworks so the kids got to light off more once the sun went down.

All in all, great 4th of July!!!
