I had to work night shift so Doug took the kids out to the river for a while so that I could have a nap.
They had sooooo much fun on the inner tube that he took them to town to find a raft! They loved it!
… just another hectic day …

It was very hot out today. The boys were back and forth between outside play and the cabin. When outside they were running through sprinklers, playing in the pool (cow tub), and playing spies to find the bunny (I offered them both 5 dollars if they could trap the bunny). The boys weren’t hungry but I was worried that they needed some water so I brought them out capri-suns that I found in the fridge.
Jacob says: “I don’t want that”
Me: “You guys need some fluids, it’s hot out here and I don’t want you two getting headaches and be sick like Nic last night”
Jacob: “I’ll be honest mom, I was hoping to have a headache today so that I would get pampered tonight”

Doug and Jacob finished up the trim on the corners of the cabin and around the door. The outside is just about finished. 2 windows need to be ordered, installed, and trimmed. Then it will be finished!
I drove Emily up to the Zoo to meet her Grandma Tennison. She gets to spend the whole week there! The boys had fun playing outside and enjoying the heat. This evening about a half hour before I take off for work Nicolas comes inside grabbing his head and crying. He says his head hurts, almost as bad as a real live headache! I gave him some Advil and continued getting ready for work. By the time I was leaving he had a puke bucket in front of him and was just miserable! Poor kid.

I got off work this morning and all was quiet in the house. Doug was at work and the kids were sound asleep. I showered and went to sleep. When I woke up in the afternoon the kids were all dressed, happy, and the house was clean! Gotta love that! I brought them to get ice cream cones for a treat.

Today Mindy stopped here on her way home from camping. She picked up Lexi and dropped us off Jacob. He has been gone for so long. We all really missed him! It was great to see him again. This evening the kids all played, Jacob handed out his gifts from his Wisconsin trip, and we had a good time. Then I headed out for work…. oh boy!

Today the girls and I stained 170 shingles while Doug got started on the peaks. We finished staining about 2 hours later. Poor Doug was just finishing up row one. As you can tell it’s a small space and each shingle needed to be cut…. Yikes! After 8 hours it did get finished and looks gorgeous. Tomorrow (maybe) he will finish the second peak.
And it looks great!! Little tiny detail work like that is such a time consumer…
