Nicolas came out into the kitchen asking for a lighter. This was in his hands. A bottle full of batteries. If you look really close you can see a match sticking out of the bottom of the bottle. I asked how he got it in there. Jacob replied with “oh I used my pocket knife and cut a tiny hole”. Oh okay…. who the heck is raising these kids anyway?

The girl’s computers arrived today! They were so excited!!! Grandpa Gord has had them for the last two weeks getting them updated and useable. He also got all of Emily’s stuff off her old dead one and onto her new one. Thanks Gramps!!!

Hard to see from this photo but Doug went around two sides of the chicken coop with a second layer of boards. I had a meeting this morning so Nicolas helped him.

Emily’s progress report for the third quarter. (her first official quarter in school). She’s got straight A’s. So proud of you Emily! Keep up the good work.
Super duper GREAT Emily. I would send this Hurray of to your computer but it is still sitting here in the living room waiting for the memory to arrive. Anyhow GREAT GOING we are all proud of your efforts. Love and hugs Grandma
I’m so proud of her! I dont think I ever got straight A’s! Poor study habits. Didn’t care. Etc.! She’s pretty proud of her too!

Today while I was at work Doug finished up the Den! Now the kids have a cozy place to watch TV!!! If any of you have seen our weight room… this is a huge change!
Now of course our old TV room is empty and needs some help. I’m hoping to turn it into a nice craft/office space. Doug is going to build us a table and a computer desk. This will give everyone somewhere to spread out for crafts, homework, computer stuff, etc. and not take up my dinning room table!
Yea but where are all the weights?

Wow, what a day. Doug and I are really enjoying our days off together. He hit the river first thing, I hit the gym. Then I brought the girls off to their Treasure Seekers club. Aunt Ginger came along to help us out this time because we were making cards. Something she’s very good and crafty at…. and she has all the fun supplies!!!
I was craving Mexican food so we all went out to Mexican when we were finished with the 4H meeting.
On the way home we stopped at the Jetty. Doug and I had never driven out to it and we wanted to find out how. The rocks looked like to much fun to climb on so we got out of the car.
Doug of course had to stand and watch the wild bar for a while. The kids had fun climbing all over the rocks finding sea creatures. Aunt Ginger and I found a sandy beach on the other side and brought Rici down there to play. Soon everyone joined us.
Then of course we had to jump in the waves. And we had to get soaked. And Nic had to fall in the water. And then we had to go home.
Sounds like you all had a great weekend!

Finally Doug and I have a day off together! We’ve both been working so many extra shifts we just keep crossing paths. Not too much fun but it did pay for new tires on multiple vehicles, and new computers for our two girls. I guess it’s worth it!
Today I had big plans to build the shelf in the kids den. Doug had big plans to fish the river… multiple times! We both sorta got what we wanted. He fished, then we worked on the shelf, then he fished, then we worked on the shelf. Shelf isn’t finished but maybe tomorrow. I went fishing with him on his second trip and it was fun. We brought Rici along and he had a blast on the beach.
Rici is sitting in time out in the last one. You can see the mad face. He even told me “no, I’m mad!” Pretty funny.
It was a wonderful day. Jacob had his first Baseball practice tonight. We brought all the kids to the YMCA so they could swim while Jacob practiced. Doug and I got a small work out in. Then we played some basketball in the gym.
We ended the day with popcorn and a movie…. AVATAR!

He gave it an honest effort. Then the drive on the lawn mower broke, and he drove over it! It’s now in a few pieces. Oops. Not his fault at all. Anyway, the lawn mower became to hard for him to push so I had to finish it up for him.

Poor Nic. Having a hard time shaking this illness. Just sleeps and sleeps. I asked him to get in the bath this eve. He did and then fell asleep.
Oh man was he mad when I woke up to get him dressed.
