Halloween

First we carved pumpkins

Then we went to the YMCA to play basketball and swim for a while.  I ran around their track while the kids played in the gymnasium.  Pretty cool set up they have! 

Later we went back to Aunt Ginger’s to dress up and head out trick or treating.

Somehow I only got pics of the girls.  Anyway after an hour or so it poured on us!  I had just moments before been making fun of all the parents driving around behind their kids.  Then the sky’s opened up and I understood.  Still I kept on walking with the kids…  we trick or treated for another hour or so. Then home to check out the loot!

Halloween Eve

Doug met Mindy this afternoon just in time for trick or treat downtown!  Who thought of trick or treating two nights in a row…..

After Trick or Treating Emily and Jacob got to go to a dance.  But it was no fun and they called for a ride home just as I was getting off work.  Bummers.

Cows

Even through the sickness hitting this house we’ve still managed to get some things done.  Our poor cows were in the field with no shelter.  We spent the weekend finishing the fence that Doug has been working hard on the last few weeks.  He said the post holes were a real bear to dig!  Today (in the pouring rain) we put up the cows shelter.

Then someone left the gate to the field open and the cows got in the backyard.  That’s okay.  With some grain they came running to their new stable.

All done and dry!  Needs some red paint on a non rainy day.

Sick Week

It’s been a long boring week.  I woke up at 1am Sunday night with the pukes…. exactly 7 days after Doug woke up with it. Monday was spent laying on the couch feeling horrible.  Doug took over school and their daily run.  Tuesday was spent pretending I was fine and moving slooooow.  Doug did most of the school with the kids but I managed to do their run with them.   That evening we even made it to the pool for a quick 45 minute swim.  Today I feel much better.  The kids did an awesome job on school today.  We all went on our daily run at 1pm.  EVERYONE except for Jacob complained about side aches.  I think tomorrow we will try and run at 11am before lunch rather than after.  Right after our run the kids did their chores.  Then LEGO MOVERS!!!  The kids finally had the table set up and got to start building their robot for the missions.  As always it was great fun.  Then home for dinner, movies, and bed!

HiHi – so whats with all this sick stuff? Grandma and I have been fine, so we didn’t bring it down here, thank goodness.

Nothing Special

Today I worked, Dad was home sick still, and the kids were ….. just kids!  Nothing special happened.  Emmers spent the afternoon playing with the neighbor kids.  Nic spent the afternoon driving dad crazy.  I was very proud of Emily when I got home though.  She had done her school, her chore, and her run without me here to encourage it!!!  YEA!  She also made her very first sale with Emmy’s Eggs.  How exciting!  She sold two dozen eggs.  Today she has an order for 4 dozen eggs.!!!  She is so excited.

Poor thing woke up at 2am to a rumbly in his tummy and PUKING!  It didn’t stop till after 7am.  A pretty crummy happy birthday to him.  He spent most of the day sleeping on the couch.

Pumpkin Patch

Today when we met up to exchange the kids we all met at Bauman Farms for some good old fashion fun!  In Alexa’s words “it was awesome!”  They had a huge castle with a slide made out of hay bales.  There was a big huge yellow pillow to bounce on.  They also had animals to pet, tractors to climb on, huge swings, mazes, obstacle courses, ziplines, rock wall climbing, and of course pumpkins!  It was great fun.
