Today started out with a bang! I went on my run right after Doug left. (it’s nice to be able to run again after being so sick with that cold!). Then ran off into town to pick up some jalapenos, to can with the tuna, and farm animal feed. I also picked up some straw to clean out the chicken coop and clean up the cow side for storage. We haven’t let the cows in there in quite some time so now it’s going to be the storage area for the alfalfa, straw bedding, wheelbarrow, etc. By the time I got back home it was time to start school and can the tuna. As soon as the kids were finished with school we all headed to the chicken coop. Lex and Em helped clean it out while Jacob worked on moving rocks and the chicken wire from the big gate. I wanted to be able to drive the truck in their. I’m not sure what Nic did… I’m sure it was something worth while though! Once the chicken coop was all cleaned up and fresh hay was laid we went up to the cabin and finished connecting the drain pipe from the cabin to the septic tank. Mom and I cut all the remaining pipes and got things ready. Then the kids went under the cabin and helped push together the pipes with the glue on them. Finally everyone got involved filling the trench. Tomorrow hopefully gravel will arrive! I’m so excited to finally be rid of the big dirt pile outside the cabin and back door!
