Emily and Jacob had an experiment to build an “earthquake resistant building”. The “building” needed to have at least two stories. They were only able to build it using marshmallows and fettuccini. Each had to form a hypothesis to what their “building” would tolerate.

Jacob’s Hypothesis: “My building will tolerate a magnitude of 5 inch movement up and down continuously”
Conclusion: His building did not crack, bend, fold, fall down, or move in any way, shape or form when the table was vigorously shaken up and down! YEA JACOB!!!

Emily’s Hypothesis: “My structure will be able to withstand going from side to side 5 inches in one direction.
Conclusion: Her building was shaken like crazy and did not break! YEA EMILY!!! Oh ya, it also didn’t bend, crack, fold, fall down, or move in any way.
