Jacob and Lexi Come Home

The kids came home and everyone had a

good time playing together in the back yard.

It was beautiful out.  I was as sick as a dog

today and spent most of the day in bed.  I

was supposed to meet Mindy at 1am but

couldn’t even manage to get into the

kitchen.  Mindy and John drove the kids all

the way home.  How nice!  By 4pm I was able

to stand up right for a little bit so I wandered

outside to get some pictures of the kids

having fun.

They were such wonderful kids. 

Emily and Lexi made a late lunch.  Dad

brought home banana splits for them all for

dinner.  Sort of a reward for being so good!  I

was really thankful that they were so good

that day.  I just don’t think it would have

mattered it they weren’t!  I would have never

noticed!!!

Dad caught a springer!!!

The first Springer finally joined us for dinner!!!  YEA!  It has

been a long time since we’ve had some really yummy Springer

with havartii cheese.  Not that we should complain because

there is an awful lot of fresh fish around our table!!!

I was at work during this exciting fishing trip but I got to

enjoy the dinner.  They waited for me to get home.  It was

DELISCIOUS!!!

The Phan’s visit (and Grandma and Grandpa too)

The Phan’s showed up with Grandma and Grandpa Brill Saturday afternoon.  It was a windy day but we all headed out for some clamming anyway.  The tides were too high but everyone had fun playing in the water.  I hung out in the warm car with Grandma, Kimberly, and Evan.  It was FREEZING out there!  We had a late barbecue of ribs that night and had the campfire going in the back yard.  The older kids had fun roasting marshmallows. 

Sunday morning it was time to feed the cows… big family affair this time!

The Emily’s fed the cows.  Everyone else just wanted to watch. 

After church the boys went for a drift down the Trask….. no fish.  They came home early and the kids spent the rest of the day playing.

Then we fired up the barbecue and the fire pit.  Everyone enjoyed brauts, hotdogs, and roasted marshmallows!

Monday morning Doug, Grandpa, and Austin woke up early to take the big boat out on the ocean.  The rest of the gang went out clamming again.  This time at low tide.

The clamming gang brought back some serious clams.  Three buckets!!!

The three guys had a great time and did manage to bring back some fish also.

Before the Phan’s headed back toward Springfield we all ate a big meal.

Fishing

Mom’s Day

Today the kids and I headed into town right after school.  We ran a few errands.  First stop was the feed store.  Emily fell in love with a cowgirl hat….. had to get it!  Of course, Nic wanted one too.  Next stop was to the hospital to drop off eggs for a friend.  The kids wanted to show off their new hats to dad. Then we went to the cheese factory.  After watching the cheese production for a while, we had some ice cream.  Nic decided he didn’t like his because it had bubble gum chunks in it.  Go figure, it was bubble gum ice cream!!!  Anyway, he through his away.

Fishing

We all went out on the Trask today.  The kids had fun playing in the sand while dad fished.  After a while Nicolas had to get back into the boat.  He was being a little naughty with the sand!  He ended up fishing for a while.

After a few hours on the river we left empty handed.  Instead of fish and rice for dinner it was grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Ocean Again

The Boy’s (and Lexi!) were up early for another ocean trip.  This time a friend came along.  The weather was a little wild starting out.  Nicolas was the only one to upchuck but Doug said everyone looked a little “green.”

After a rough start and a lack of Halibut, things got better once everyone started catching sea bass.

Dad’s Day
