A beautiful busy day

Doug finished up the shelf in the kids room for the TV first thing this morning.  The kids worked on school.

Then Doug and I went on our run during the kids break from school.  Lexi and Emily rode their bikes.  After the run Lexi and Emily peeled a ton of hard boiled eggs.

Emily was sick of it by the time that was done so she went on a walk looking for daffodils.  Alexa stayed behind and helped make the egg salad.  Boy she sure is a good help in the kitchen.  I didn’t actually do any of it.

Then Lexi and I made a picnic lunch for her and Emily.

Then we all went out bear hunting… or rather hiking!  The kids didn’t want to go but ended up having a blast.  I believe I even heard Jacob say “I’m glad I came, this is fun”   Hmmmm.

We hiked down a pretty long road.  Almost to the end, although we couldn’t tell it was almost the end because it was so curvy, Emily suddenly stopped.  “I’m not going any further, we have to climb back UP this hill.”  Cracked me up, Doug just said “that’s okay, wait here”  She waited for a little while but that wasn’t much fun.  Few minutes later we could hear the girls running behind us.  Doug was busy teaching the kids the difference between tracks.

On the way home we stopped to let the kids play in a waterfall.
