After our morning run we got to work cleaning out the nasty hay from the chickens and cows. Finally it was a semi warm day with no rain and we were home! When Doug first went into the cow stall the cows just hung out inside. Finally with much prodding Emily was able to luer them outside. It took some serious coaxing and letting them suck on her hands! Pretty funny! Once outside Taco Bell went crazy. Kicking his legs and dancing like crazy. It was HILLARIOUS! The cows spent the rest of the afternoon outside. Taco Time followed Taco Bell everywhere. This evening it took some serious work with the bottles to get them back into their pen. They are all safe and sound now though.

That was really funny to see our cows running! They really looked like they were enjoying it. I love you mom & dad bye.

After church this morning I took Jacob and Lexi up the hill to meet their mom. Doug brought Emily and Nic home to get started on the third and final door. When I got home he was hard at work on it.

It wasn’t long before it was finished! So Jacob if you are reading you now have a door to your room!!!

Later in the evening Doug and I went over to a friends house for a quiet dinner.
Julie made pizza
and the guys played outside with Jaxon.
check out that happy smile…
Julie made chocolate covered pretzels for desert. Jaxon really got into it.

I worked today so Doug had the morning with just Nic and Lexi. Doug fed the cows on his own and let the two little munchkins sleep. We sorta had a late night with smores, movies, and the “campfire!” Later in the afternoon he met Leilani in town to pick up Jacob and Emily. They were in exceptionally mellow moods for having minimal sleep the night before. Actually Jacob says there was no sleep for him and Taylor. And by the bags under his eyes I believe it! The kids are all watching the kids choice awards on TV. Big event apparently. Doug and I are enjoying a glass of wine. Soon it will be bedtime. Church in the morning and then Jacob and Alexa are back to mom’s! Lexi has a dental appointment on Monday. Can’t miss that!

Doug spent the day finishing up the bathroom door and getting the girls door up. Two down and one to go now!

This evening once all was cleaned up we watched a movie with Alexa and Nicolas. First I made them a bed in the living room while dad got the fire started. Then we all watched Bolt (a new Disney Movie), while the two munchkins roasted marshmallows and made smores in the fireplace! It was fun.

That is cool. Looks like you guys had a really good time. We should all roast marshmellows in our fire place one of these days! That looks like alot of fun.
Love,
Emily

Nic used to say that he would marry me someday. Today he changed his mind. He’s now figured out that I can’t marry him because I will be the grandma and I can’t be the mommy too… scary thought! This evening I asked Alexa and Nic if they wanted to put on their swimsuits and take a bubble bath in my bathtub. They were both excited and spent the next hour in the tub. When they both came out and got themselves dressed in PJ’s Nic informed dad that Alexa was going to be his wife someday cause she was way better looking than me when we get out of the tub!

We went to the beach today after school. After dad’s projects too! He was able to take call so he worked on hanging the bathroom door during school. Not quite done so no pictures. Tomorrow hopefully it and the girls room will be done. Anyway, back to the subject of the beach. It was fun. We climbed the big sand hill and then the girls had a fun rolling down it. Yep, I said rolling. They had sand EVERYWHERE!

After climbing the hill we checked out the rocks.

I dared Emily and Jacob to jump off the rocks and run through the sand between the waves. Then dad went ahead and double dog dared them. I truly thought it would be safe…… Uhhh not so much. They watched the waves intently and jumped into the sand at the perfect time running like mad. Next wave behind them. Then wam, down went Emily. I hadn’t thought the whole thing through and apparently either had she. There was a few “pot holes” between the sand and the rocks. Sooooo it was a mini sandbar I guess. Anyway, down she went into a hole. Managed to get herself out before the wave but then Wam! Fell into another hole. This time the wave hit her and she was gone. Bang, Bang, Bang on the rocks. The wave receded and she climbed out. Stood there looking at us arms out and said “I want to go home.” Jacob had ran down the other side and luckily didn’t hit any potholes. He did get hit by the wave too but he was able to stay on solid ground. His legs got pounded and when he came up to me said “I’m never coming to the beach for 5 years!” There were tons of spectators as well as Doug and I ready to jump in and save them. Boy did we look like horrid parents. I was petrified! Good lesson for all of us on the power of water! I really thought they could just run up the sand through the rocks. Never envisioned the wave hitting them or the pot holes! Doug wanted a picture of them afterwards and they both turned around. Neither would look at the camera!

I got my van back today!!! YEA YEA YEA! I would dance a jig but nobody would enjoy watching the video!! After school today we all went into town to run errands and pick up my van. Doug worked so we stopped by to give him our bundle up smiles. We then left him his truck and walked over to the auto shop to pick up the van. Of course the kids were running all around and Jacob slipped in a puddle and fell right on rock. Tore a big hole in his knee and so swimming was out. Boy were the others bummed. We went back home. The girls made pizza dough, which all the kids later decorated into their own pizzas. Once dad came home the boys watched a movie by the fire while the girls and I watched a chick flick. I was going to watch the boy movie to be with dad until Lexi said to me “You’re going to watch a boy movie so you can be with a boy?” She was serious! So of course I said NOOOOO! Boys are not important, but your daddy is!!

I was at work today so it was dad’s day. He tried to get atleast the bathroom door hung but things were a little explosive with childen. He bagged the projects and focusd in on school with kids instead. Jacob had a long weekend with mom visiting California and he was still catching up on sleep! Kids!!! Atleast he was able to see his brothers for a couple days. Nicolas woke up sick this morning so he had a lazy day laying in front of the fire in and out of sleep. He did do school though surprisingly. Later in the day Jacob burned the garbage while the girls hauled three 50 pound bags of chicken food to the chicken coop. Way to go kiddos! I also here they all worked out. They lifted upper body together. I came home, read with Nic, and climbed in bed. Good Night

This morning after lifting weights Doug and I went for a run outside for the first time in months! It was AWESOME, as Alexa would put it. By 9:30 Doug, Nic and I were out of the house for a day in Portland. Emily decided her tummy wasn’t into the windy road so she stayed home. I’m thinking the TV had a little pull in that decision too. We met Mindy at Fishermans Marine to pick up Jacob and Alexa. Doug found himself some HUGE tuna reels… he’s got some new big dream to catch a big eyed tuna. I guess they are huge. I’m confused because I’m thinking the albacore he catches have big eyes so I’m thinking he’s already caught them! Then we found the doors for the kids bedrooms and bathrooms. I also found a chandelier to put above the dining room table. Then it was home to chicken enchiladas. YUM! Kids were really tired so everyone had an early bedtime while Doug and I worked on kids school assignments. Now were off to bed. Oh ya, one more thing. We got a call from the auto shop that my van is ready to be picked up!!! And the best part is it was less than 1000 to fix it! YEA! Just barely under but I was prepared for much worse. Apparently the catalitic converter was really bad. Had nothing to do with the puddle I went through…. HA! I’ll pick it up Wednesday when I’m off work.
