Doug was at work today. Emily, Nic, and I went to church this morning. It was my sunday to help out in the Sunday School classroom. Last sunday was crazy with the increasing numbers of 3 year olds joining our class so I brought Emily in for reinforcement. It went okay and afterwards a couple of us teachers got together for a short meeting to discuss how to handle the increasing number of children….. although this is really a blessing with just a few small stepping stones for us to step over. The short meeting turned into 1.5 hours and Emily was left behind for second hour sunday school to help out. Thank Goodness because it sounds like there was a lot of kids in that class as well!
After church we decided to go for a bike ride… well I ran. Nicolas and Emily rode their bikes. We went to the school down the road to play on their playground. After a half hour or so I realized I needed to get into town for some things. We were having friends over after work for National Margarita Day! The kids wern’t quite ready to leave yet so I rode Emily’s bike home and returned in the van to pick them up with Nic’s bike. Let me tell you, that bike ride was one of the hardest bike rides ever! I’m not sure if it’s because the bike was so small and my knees were to my chin. Or if it’s because my behind hurt so bad from the hard dang seat. Or if maybe it’s because I just wasn’t in shape for a bike ride! Either way it was one tough ride. As I was riding along, dying mind you, I was trying to decide. Do I look more stupid riding this bike or getting off the bike and walking it because I’m so tired. I decided even if my legs burned off (which is what they felt like) I would be better riding. If an 11 year old could ride the bike to the park without even a bit of sweat then I could surely ride it home….. Oh My GOSH!
