School today was EASY! The children went to bed around 8pm last night and all of them did some school in bed after being tucked in. Yes I did say all of them… Nicolas too. He was so proud when he woke up this morning to show me his Explode the Code that he had completed. All children were finished with school by 10am. We worked on our state, Minnesota. Did you know that their state muffin is the blueberry muffin?!?! Me neither. It’s been rainy outside so we’ve hung inside most of the day. I read them three chapters from Bound for Oregon. Then it was time for more playing. I can’t believe it but there have been NO fights. The newness should be wearing off by tomorrow. Ha Ha I’m off to work. Good luck honey! Everyone got their reading done early. I think they’re hoping for movies tonight. Nicolas even wanted to sit and listen to Jacob read. Very intently too
I must say.
“Bound for Oregon” was a great book! I really liked it.
Today was our first meeting with Lego Moovers after the competition. Lexi is now joining the group so there was Emily, Jacob, Lexi, and Taylor. Paige is out of town still visiting her mom. The kids tore apart the old robot, organized all the pieces, and put away all the pieces to the new robot we just got. Once everything found a home in the little trays they started to figure out how to build a new robot with tracks! We’ll see how it goes. Everyone seemed really into it and ready to keep going with the club!!! YEA!!! I was ready to give it up.

Today was just a quiet day. It’s been really lonely around here without Jacob and Lexi and it’s starting to wear on everyone. Emily is reading more

and the dog’s have decided since Alexa is still not home maybe Nic’s bed wouldn’t be so bad to sleep in.
I hope they come home soon….
I was starting to hope they would too.

Doug was at work today. Emily, Nic, and I went to church this morning. It was my sunday to help out in the Sunday School classroom. Last sunday was crazy with the increasing numbers of 3 year olds joining our class so I brought Emily in for reinforcement. It went okay and afterwards a couple of us teachers got together for a short meeting to discuss how to handle the increasing number of children….. although this is really a blessing with just a few small stepping stones for us to step over. The short meeting turned into 1.5 hours and Emily was left behind for second hour sunday school to help out. Thank Goodness because it sounds like there was a lot of kids in that class as well!
After church we decided to go for a bike ride… well I ran. Nicolas and Emily rode their bikes. We went to the school down the road to play on their playground. After a half hour or so I realized I needed to get into town for some things. We were having friends over after work for National Margarita Day! The kids wern’t quite ready to leave yet so I rode Emily’s bike home and returned in the van to pick them up with Nic’s bike. Let me tell you, that bike ride was one of the hardest bike rides ever! I’m not sure if it’s because the bike was so small and my knees were to my chin. Or if it’s because my behind hurt so bad from the hard dang seat. Or if maybe it’s because I just wasn’t in shape for a bike ride! Either way it was one tough ride. As I was riding along, dying mind you, I was trying to decide. Do I look more stupid riding this bike or getting off the bike and walking it because I’m so tired. I decided even if my legs burned off (which is what they felt like) I would be better riding. If an 11 year old could ride the bike to the park without even a bit of sweat then I could surely ride it home….. Oh My GOSH!

We finally had our competition! We missed the big statewide competition back in December. The weather was terrible and the highway was closed do to an ice storm. We stayed home where it was safe. Another local team also missed the tournament due to weather so the local groups all got together for a “moc-tournament.” It went well. Due to bummer circumstances we only had two children available from our group. Taylor Schabell and Emily Brill. They spent the last few days revamping their presentation. They needed to drop many speekers and make it work for only two. It turned out awesome and I was so proud of them. Taylors dad also spent the last few days helping them to polish up their robot moves. It was a great learning experience to see how all the other teams did their stuff. The Lego Moovers got a solid 45 points with two attempts and 40 with the third. They were calm, collected, and looked like pro’s! It was awesome! I think they’re now excited to play with the robot some more!!!

We went fishing today. Yep forgot the camera. Dang! Doug, Nicolas, and I took the drift boat to the Nestucca river…..my favorite river……so beautiful. Sometimes not so good smelling though! Anyway, no fish. Did catch a nice nap though while Nic and dad fished.

Today was just a normal school day. Em rocked and finished early. She worked on arts and crafts.

Nicolas rocked on his math as well! The addition seemed to finally click. He is so proud of his work.
Jacob and Lexi are still with mom enjoying their new baby sister. We sure do miss them. It is definetly time to see their shiny faces again. Just a couple more days. The first few days was nice but now I’m BORED!!!
